We have been actively involved in the promotion and teaching of Italian language and culture in Queensland for more than 30 years and we provide an authentic experience to learn Italian with social activities and events that ensure every student becomes part of the ILC community.

Students enrolling in our adult Italian classes, have the option to purchase access to Education Perfect: an online interactive platform for purposeful practice of all language learning skills.

Our Italian classes follow the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) levels (A1-C2), providing internationally recognised learning goals and standards.
The CEFR framework ensures that our curriculum meets international standards and that your learning outcomes are clearly defined and measurable.
A Certificate of Attendance is provided at the end of semester (16 week course) for those students that have attended a minimum of 10 classes and there are no specific exams or assessments required at the end of your class.
Students that wish to undertake an exam to verify their Italian language competence can do so via Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera (CILS).
This is a certification of competence that formally assesses your language proficiency. CILS certification exams can be taken for specific reasons such as Italian residency, citizenship or university enrolment in Italy.
Compared to short-term languge courses, our 16-week semester classes give you something more substantial: real, measurable progress aligned with the CEFR.
Over four months, your brain has time to properly encode new vocabulary and structures into long-term memory through spaced repetition and regular practice.
You’ll build genuine confidence across all four language skills – speaking, listening, reading, and writing – while exploring Italian culture in ways that make the language stick.
While our short courses work well for quick travel prep and follow a less structured approach, they can’t replicate the depth, retention, and lasting proficiency that a full semester provides.
