HISTORY

Since its inception in 2001, Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo (SLIM) is an annual celebration held in October to promote and celebrate Italian language and culture globally. Each year is dedicated to a different theme which serves as a common thread for celebration.

This year’s theme celebrates Italian as a brilliant language in every sense of the word – radiant, inventive and forward-looking, while deeply rooted in a long and rich history and tradition.

How we celebrate SLIM

The Week of the Italian Language in the World is an important highlight of the ILC calendar, as we celebrate the incredible community of students, families, teachers and language lovers who make Italian thrive right here in Queensland.
