Since 1980, the Italian Language Centre (ILC) has supported Italian language classes within the State, Catholic, and Independent school systems across Queensland in the hubs of Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Cairns, and Townsville. ILC is part of the SFIM network managed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI – Ministero Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale). SFIM’s goal is the promotion of Italian language and culture worldwide. The support of MAECI allows ILC to promote and maintain Italian programs in primary and secondary Queensland schools.
Co.As.It.-ILC recognises the financial support from MAECI (Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Collaboration). The approved 2025 Project (“Curriculum Vivo: l`Italiano nel Mondo Reale”) supports Primary and Secondary schools throughout Queensland where Italian is taught.

Co.As.It.-ILC received a 15.5% reduction due to limited MAECI funding. Co.As.It-ILC will review the budget to reflect the 15.5% reduction on the project.

Book a session and bring in your Unit plan and/or resources to overview together with ILC’s dedicated team. You will receive all the pedagogical and linguistic support you need and return to your Italian classroom with an updated Italian teacher’s toolkit, ready to successfully deliver a super engaging unit.
There is an option to book a session via Zoom for those teachers in the remote areas of Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Townsville.
